Let's hope I don't get anymore interruptions so that there isn't a November 2011, part 3! Jonathan has had a cold this week and he has been sleeping terribly...and as a result, so have I!
But here are more pictures chronicling the further adventures of November 2011!

Above: Playing with stickers and just the usual roughhousing.

Above: Jonathan must find something very funny about the dinosaurs in that bag. What a cute smile!

Above: Jonathan conquered many feats during the month of November. He became a pro at standing up by himself and discovered a particular love of climbing the stairs.

Above: Sweet handsome boys with their sweet handsome dad!

Above: Peter training for the hurdles.

Above: Getting loves from Daddy.

Above: Look at that sweet, chubby belly!

Above: These brothers have good times together!

Above: Pete is a guy who enjoys a good laugh!

Above: These handsome guys know which team to cheer for!

Above: We celebrated Thanksgiving with my Dad while he was in town (he has been out of the country working in New Zealand for the last few months). We had Thanksgiving with him on Friday the 19th because my Dad's trip was a last minute one and everyone already had obligations for Thanksgiving. Dad and Rhonda were really sweet and surprised us with Christmas presents since they wouldn't be in town for Christmas. The boys loved their presents.

Above: Peter enjoying the Thanksgiving festivities at my Dad's house with his Uncle Sean and his lady love Robin.

Above: We went to Thanksgiving Point for "Eat Like a Pilgrim." Honestly, Peter was not impressed due to the absence of his cousins. In the past, we have gone with the rest of the Washburn clan, but due to Jeremiah's school schedule, we couldn't go on the same night as everyone else. Peter missed his playtime with his cousins tremendously.

Above: We couldn't really get Peter to take any pictures with us. This is the best we could do! He wanted to leave and get "burbers and 'ries" instead.

Above: Jonathan enjoyed himself though!

Above: Three years and two kids later, we have amassed quite a few riding toys. I think we're good for now. I'm not sure where to keep them all! So, let's hope that we don't keep getting new riding toys with any future children that may be blessed to come our way!

Above: Jonathan is quite the handy man!

Above: How did this Halloween picture get in here? Oh wait, that's not Halloween, that's Thanksgiving! We weren't able to do anything really to celebrate and when I told Peter that it was a holiday, he immediately asked to carve pumpkins. I still had some little pumpkins from Halloween and rather than carving them, I drew faces on them with a Sharpie and had Peter tell me what kinds of expressions to put on the pumpkins (they are left to right: spooky, happy, angry, and silly). Peter then fittingly encircled them with a stuffed animal snake. Very festive decor for any Thanksgiving celebration.
And why are we so casual for Thanksgiving, you ask? Both of my boys caught the dreaded stomach flu that started with poor cousin Thomas at the beginning of November (discussed in the last blog post). I'm still not sure how we caught it. It was either at my Dad's house for the early Thanksgiving celebration or when we went to my Mom's house for dinner the following Sunday. But at any rate, both boys were throwing up two days before Thanksgiving, so we had to cancel our Thanksgiving plans. We had planned to join the Washburn side of the family for Thanksgiving dinner. Jeremiah's grandparents had been invited and they have had some health scares of late, so we decided that we would feel terrible if our kids got them sick. It's a good thing we decided to skip it. Jeremiah got his round of the sickness literally right when all of his family were sitting down to dinner. Poor guy. I had made a turkey breast in the slow cooker so that we could have something festive to eat for Thanksgiving, but no one felt good enough to eat it...for a few days, at least. At that time, we finally enjoyed some turkey sandwiches.

Above: Posing for a mother and sons Thanksgiving portrait! So artistic and formal!

Above: Now it's time for some pictures with Daddy!

Above: Happy Thanksgiving!

Above: It's always an adventure! Luckily, the boys were feeling pretty good. This particular flu bug was a quick mover and the boys were feeling just fine by Thanksgiving...though they were still contagious. These pictures were taken right before the bug officially hit Jeremiah. I got it about a day or two later. Mine was really mild. I just felt unsettled and tired for about a day and certain smells made me feel sick to my stomach, but nothing worse than that for me. I got the most mild version of it.

Above: We put up our Christmas tree a couple of days after Thanksgiving. Peter was really excited about it and was very helpful in putting it up. We put it on top of a table for two reasons 1) we didn't have room to put it anywhere else and 2) we needed to put it up high so that Jonathan wouldn't get into it.
It took awhile for Peter to get into the Halloween spirit this year, so I figured that I should start preparing him for Christmas. Well, I was wrong...it didn't take him very long to catch on to the spirit of Christmas at all! Especially the presents aspect of Christmas. :) I knew that we had a fun holiday season coming our way with one very, very excited little boy! (and one super happy-go-lucky little boy who didn't know what to expect regarding Christmas one way or another!)
Stay tuned for the further adventures of the Washburn family!
You do have a lot of ride on toys! Maybe you could hide some and alternate them once your in your house. As usual I love the pictures. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, you have a lot of riding toys alright! I'm sure this big move will give you lots if trips to the DI! I bought thomas's riding toy secondhand for ten bucks, so think of the joy you'll be spreading! However, if you do choose to get rid of some of their toys please do so in w way less tramatic then when dad brought the dumpster to our house and did a mass toy genocide. I'm scarred! Love the pics. The one of Pete jumping over mumu cracks me up
ReplyDeletePeter is on a riding toy from Nammy from his first birthday. Jonathan is on a riding toy from Grandpa from Pete's first Christmas. The rocking horse is from Aunt Teri from my baby shower for Peter. The Winnie the Pooh airplane is from Nammy from Pete's first Christmas. And finally, the Lightning McQueen car is from Grandpa from that Thanksgiving dinner/Christmas celebration. I don't know what ones to get rid of yet...I'll just have to rotate them for now.
