August, Part 7: Meeting Their New Baby Brother

Honestly, I had been a little worried about how the boys would react to meeting their new little brother. Johnny had shown so much anxiety about the change of having a new baby brother. He kept saying things like, "Will you still love me after baby Daniel comes to live with us?" I tried to put these fears to rest by explaining to him how we would just have an extra person to love, and that loving another person didn't take love away from anyone else. Johnny still seemed fearful about it though. However, when the boys got to meet Daniel in the hospital, it was perfect: happy, loud, joyous, excited, and comfortable.

Above: Three sweet brothers.

Above: Johnny was a little shy with Daniel, but there was nothing but love there.

Above: Peter seemed flabbergasted by the fact that this tiny human had only recently been in my belly...and that my belly was no longer humongous (though it still had plenty of shrinking still to do).

Above: Peter also thought the hospital room was pretty fun and particularly liked this chair.

Above: The boys even brought Daniel a little present. They were really excited to give it to him.

Above: Johnny thought the hospital bed that could move up and down was pretty cool.

Above: Peter liked the TV remote control.

Above: Johnny had a good time sitting in my bed and playing games on my phone. He seemed right at home.

Above: I think the visit put everyone's fears to rest.

Above: After the boys left with Nammy, Dad got some time in the coveted hospital bed and Mom was happy to get a break (because the position I was sitting in kept making my bum numb). Oh, he's so sweet to snuggle!
