December, Part 3: Enjoying Winter Time and the Holiday Season

We had a good month. The boys were very excited (and impatient) for Christmas, but we had a lot of good times.

Above: Mimi got this cute blanket for Daniel. The boys all had a good time trying it out together.

Above: They wanted to measure each other to see how tall they were compared to each other too.

Above: Peter sure loves to hold his baby brother.

Above: In fact, both Peter and Johnny love their baby brother.

Above: And Daniel loves his brothers too!

Above: Though sometimes they stress Daniel out a bit.

Above: Johnny is my little artist. He loves to paint, draw, color, practice his ABCs, etc.

Above: Good snuggle time on a Saturday morning.

Above: Look at how tall and grown up Peter looks next to Daniel!

Above: Johnny is going through a silly posing and smiling phase.

Above: I think it is pretty much impossible to get them to all smile at the same time for a picture.

Above: The boys got invited to a friend's birthday party (Luke Radomsky) at Thanksgiving Point. Jeremiah watched Daniel so I could take the boys. They had so much fun!

Above: Johnny got this cool teepee from Mimi and Papa for his Christmas present. They gave it to him at our Washburn Christmas party.

Above: We have been getting a lot of snow! Perfect for sledding in our yard.

Above: Peter also had his first Jr. Jazz game of the season this month.

Above: What a silly guy. I love Johnny's legs at the bottom of this picture too.

Above: I built the boys a sled run during one of Daniel's naps. I got soaked (I don't have snow pants and I was just wearing yoga pants)! It was quickly covered up by another layer of snow just a few days later...and then another layer, and another, and another, and another...

Above: The snowflakes were so pretty.

Above: I took my coat off and let the snowflakes land on it so I could take some pictures.

Above: The wind made some cool formations in the snow the next day.

Above: So much snow!

Above: The wind made the snow in our backyard look like the surface of another planet...or like a crater had hit our backyard.

Above: We went to hear Peter at his school Christmas singing program.

Above: Peter's grade sang Pine Cones and Holly Berries for their first song.

Above: For their second and final song, the 1st grade sang Candles in the Window from Home Alone.

Above: Jeremiah and I went to Johnny's preschool Christmas program too. We were a few minutes late, so Johnny was bugged at us and I mostly only got pictures of him scowling. Here's one of the few smiley pictures I got though.

Above: Sunday dinner at Nammy's house with the cousins is the best!

Above: Silly boys.

Above: Some of the boys' neighborhood friends came over to enjoy the sled run I made. Good times!

Above: This is literally the only creative thing our Elf on the Shelf did for the boys this season. He decorated the mirror with these holiday window clings. Most nights, he was so tired that he fell asleep, forgot to fly home to the North Pole, and was woken up the next morning by Johnny discovering that he hadn't changed locations. At which point, I would kindly ask Johnny to leave the room for a few minutes so I could talk to our elf and then he would hastily fly back to the North Pole, give his daily report, fly back home, and then find a new place to hide for the day.

This was my first time doing all of our holiday traditions while sleep deprived with a new baby. I got everything done...but just barely. I would say the holidays kicked my trash this year! Ha ha!

Here are some fun videos we took this month.

  1. You got some great pictures here, especially of the little boys all together. Love the brothers being measured against each other. You should do that every year.
