First, we took Peter up to Silver Lake at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon a few weeks ago. Peter loves the mountains and the best part of Silver Lake was that the trails were pretty kid-friendly and Peter was able to run and run (one of his favorite things to do).
Second, we took Peter to Temple Square...but since this post took longer than I thought, I'll have to talk about that outing in the very near future. Keep an eye open for that blog...coming soon!
Above: Peter throwing rocks (throwing is another one of his most favorite things to do).
Above: Peter on the move!
Above: Learning about watersheds. :)
Above: Peter climbing (another one of his most favorite things to do!).
Above: Hanging with Dad.
Above: Taking in the sites.
Above: Going, going, gone!
Above: Trying to get Pete to stay still long enough to take a picture with his mommy! As you can see, it wasn't possible!
Above: Climbing and exploring!
Above: Discovering one of the last, lingering snowdrifts in the mountains and loving it!
Above: Preparing to throw a snowball. Heads up!
Above: Dragging a very unhappy Pete away from his beloved snowdrift.
Above: Trying to make his way back to the snowdrift.
Above: Foiled!
Above: First of all, I promise I didn't stage this picture. It just happened. Second, I promise I wasn't trying to be irreverent! Look at it this way, it kind of looks like Peter is a superhero and he created a force field around himself! Also, Jeremiah didn't throw Peter very high up in the air...he was always within reach...so Peter was safe, I promise!
Above: Really, I think that flying through the air was the only thing that took that snowbank off of Pete's mind. Otherwise, he might still be yearning for it!
We had a lovely trip to the mountains. We are planning to go back within the next week or so. Peter loves it and it is such a wonderful family outing. You should go too! Get some hot dogs and marshmallows and have a nice evening!
I miss the mountains so much! That picture of Pete with the halo is pretty darn hilarious! I always knew you were sacrilegious. Ha ha!
ReplyDeletePeter is so adorable, I just want to pick him up and give him a huge hug! Do you remember the commercial about Charmin? "Please don't squeeze the Charmin" There also should be a slogan "Please don't squeeze the Peter"!!!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing parents who simply adore being parents... I can see you and Jeremiah do!!! I miss you all! Love, Aunt Teri
My favorite is him looking through the rails at something. That is typical Pete when he's sizing something up. He's beyond adorable. And busy and beyond busy.
ReplyDeleteYou will be stuck going outside in the winter when you don't like the snow.
Great pics, Sarah! That superhero one was pretty awesome, I must admit. The flying one is great, too. Drew loves "jump highs" (as we call them), too. He'll walk up to me, put his arms up, and practically yell, "Mama! Jump high!"
