Outings! Part 2

As I mentioned in my last blog, in addition to our outing to the mountains (quick note: I added two very short videos to the previous blog--check 'em out!), we took Peter to Temple Square for the first time. We had meant to take Pete long before this, but something always came up. For instance, we wanted to take Peter to Temple Square this winter to see the Christmas lights. But it was always too cold...and Pete was such a little guy!

But we finally did it. We went during the Fourth of July weekend and Peter thought it was pretty cool!

Above: Doesn't he look little?

Above: Checking out a model of the Salt Lake Temple on display in the South Visitor's Center. If it hadn't been for the fact that Nammy blinked, this would have been the perfect candid picture! Darn it!

Above: My brother, Sean, looking contemplative while my husband, Jeremiah, acts silly behind him. But then again, my brother was being silly too, so it evens out.

Above: Climbing onto window ledges at the visitor's center...which I was only doing because Nammy indulged me!

Above: This pretty much represents the only time I was REALLY nice to Uncle Sean all day long. Poor Sean might not have kids for quite awhile judging by the "deer-in-the-headlights" look Mommy saw on his face when Peter chucked a piece of celery at him during dinner (our last dinner in a restaurant for a long, long time if Mommy can help it!).

Above: Being nicer to Aunt Emily.

Above: As usual, it was difficult to get Pete to stay still so that he could take a picture with his Mommy.

Above: Peter sure loves water!

Above: Jeremiah's impression of Pete's expression when he first saw the fountain (since Peter's back was to me).

Above: Hmmm. Now how can I find a way to get in the water before Dad finds a way to stop me?

Above: So little...

Above: And yet so big!

Above: Quality time with Dad.

Above: Peter loves to swing between Mommy and Daddy. These photos are thanks to my sweet sister, Emily!

Above: The Christus as it appears in the North Visitor's Center.

Above: These blurry pictures represent the best I could do in trying to capture Peter's reactions to the Christus. Basically, Pete wanted to run around it and away from us as fast as he could. Thank goodness Dad is fast...and strong too!

Above: Peter looking at pictures representing stories from the Old Testament (a picture of Noah preaching to the people is seen in the background, but that's not the picture he was currently looking at...I'm not sure which picture that was)

Above: Peter checking out a picture of his namesake--the apostle Peter. This picture depicts Christ calling Peter to be his disciple. I included the last picture because that is what Peter's face looked like while he was looking at this picture (with the apostle Peter in it). But I wasn't able to capture it with my camera. Peter was on the move too fast!

Above: My sister, Emily, getting approached by the sister missionaries as a result of her checking out the scriptures in French!

Above: Peter checking out the Conference Center fountain on the way back to the car.

As I said before, once we left Temple Square, we went to Winger's for dinner. It's a pity we didn't just end our outing at Temple Square because Peter was super hungry and super impatient and Winger's took a really long time to bring us our food. By the time we did get our food, Peter was so frustrated that he didn't eat. We basically just went home after that and vowed that from now on, if we weren't eating at home we would do take out and eat it at the park! I seriously think that dining with Peter might have traumatized Uncle Sean!

  2. Wait, I was not meaning to be anonymous. And I meant, how can I not indulge Pete when he's so cute when he gets indulged.

  3. Ya know, I think that painting Pete's looking at is actually Noah building the ark... Check it again-- maybe I'm wrong. I love those pictures of you and Jeremiah swinging the little man. Cute, cute. And your Winger's experience reminded me of how about a month ago I took the kids to El Chico while Kev was at Scout Camp. Because the service was so slow, Drew decided eating the chips was boring... but chucking them across the aisle was a ton of fun! Oy...

  4. You're a sassyfrass, Krissy. I know that the picture of Noah's ark is the one that is captured by the camera, but Peter wasn't looking at that picture. He was looking at the picture to the left of it...which I think had Peter the apostle in it. But if it wasn't that picture, I must have put the wrong picture up because I took a picture of Peter looking at a picture with Peter the apostle in it.

But let me assure you all that I am very well versed in my knowledge of art based on the scriptures and I am well aware that the picture behind Peter is of Noah preaching to the people while he is building the ark!
