January, 2014: Part 2, Peter's Birthday and Conclusion

Above: We went to the train show down at Thanksgiving Point on the day before Peter's birthday (since his birthday was on a Sunday).

Above: Lots of cool Lego and other train tracks/sets to look at!

Above: A bird's eye view.

Above: Checking out a circus train at eye level.

Above: On Sunday morning (Peter's birthday), the boys got to take their first look at Peter's Skylanders cake!

Above: I screwed up on the frosting. The recipe I was following said to use a package of powdered sugar...so, I did. However, they meant a 16 ounce package...not a 32 ounce package like the one I had. I had to add a bunch of milk to fix the consistency, but it never quite worked out. It made the cake look a little...rugged...but that is the look I was going for...right? Yeah...riiiiiiight.

Above: The boys were much less critical of the cake than I was and they loved it.

Above: Here are my boys doing their muscle man poses in front of the cake.

Above: Nammy came up to visit us after church on Peter's birthday and to open presents with us. Nammy got Peter this cool pirate ship.

Above: Peter was really excited about his new shirts.

Above: He got a viking ship from Mom and Dad.

Above: He also got a scooter from Mom and Dad.

Above: Isn't that an awesome pirate ship? Thanks, Nammy!

Above: Make a wish! The boys couldn't wait until after dinner to sing "Happy Birthday" and blow out the candles. So, we did it after lunch while Nammy was here to sing with us.

Above: The day after Peter's birthday, we went to the dinosaur museum with Grandpa and Nana and their posse. The kids were all over the place and I didn't get many pictures that night.

Above: All I can say is that I truly feel for that poor baby protoceratops.

Above: Poor little guy putting up with kids climbing all over him nonstop. :)

Above: Here is Johnny comparing fish to their fossils.

Above: This happens rarely, but when it does, it is the sweetest thing ever!

Above: These guys love to build! Just look at how pleased they look!

Above: See? I told you they love to build.

Above: This little guy of mine picked up the Mackay love of lemons and limes!

Above: There is nothing like snuggling in a blanket and watching a show on the Xoom...while sneaking a peak at what everyone else is watching on the TV. Ahhh, technology these days. We are going to have to be on our toes with these guys!

Above: We went to my cousin's carnival themed wedding reception and Peter got his face painted like a blue monster. Johnny stood in line to get his face painted like a puppy, but he chickened out (aka freaked out) at the last minute and refused to do it.

Above: I kind of wish Peter had chickened out at the last minute too. While he was getting his face painted, he loved it, and was very patient. After it was done, he thought it was really cool. On the drive home, he started to freak out about the paint on his face. Once we got home, I had to clean him up...but the black paint--especially around his eyes--was almost impossible to clean up. I couldn't get it all and we had to finish cleaning it up that morning (all while he freaked out, cried, and screamed). It is going to be a long time before we let him get his face painted again.

Above: From what I heard, some of my cousins were almost late to the wedding the next morning because it took so long to clean all of the face paint off of their kids' faces!

Above: Mr. Pudgy Pants...and then some.

Above: This is the new game that the boys love. Jeremiah calls it "Rolling Pin." Basically, Jeremiah rolls across the floor while the boys try to jump over him as he is rolling. If they don't jump in time, they are in danger of getting rolled over. If Jeremiah rolls over them, he hold his body up over them so that he doesn't squish them. The boys love this game. They could play it for hours if it didn't tucker Jeremiah out so fast.

I sure love these guys. We have a lot of good times together. Being a mom and a wife is a lot of hard work, but these guys make me very happy.
