We had gone on a family vacation in February/March to California, but I knew that everyone would be getting a little stir crazy and that we needed to get away. However, I also knew that with how crazy our schedule was and how pregnant I was, that we could only go so far away and stay for so long. So, we took a little overnight trip to Provo/BYU/Seven Peaks and we had a great time.
Above: First up, we visited the BYU Museum of Paleontology. It is a really small museum, but well worth the visit. They have a really cool collection. Plus, my boys actually posed for some pictures willingly! That is quite an accomplishment!
Above: Jeremiah convinced me to pose for a few pictures too (though I was not as willing). I hate how I look when I'm pregnant and I hit my heaviest weight ever during this pregnancy, so I wasn't a huge fan of documenting it...but here you go anyway! By the end of my pregnancy, the only pants that fit me were these black yoga pants. Yay!

Above: I thought this fossilized leaf was pretty cool so the boys agreed to pose with me in front of it. Daniel, I hope you can see from this picture how much I sacrificed to bring you here! :)
Above: Next up, we visited the new Museum of Peoples and Cultures. It is housed in a building that was once a grocery store, and after that, this building housed the BYU Telefund (where I worked--in this actual building--during my senior year at BYU) and it also housed the BYU collection of fossils that were kept in storage.

Above: This museum also has the biggest elevator any of us have ever seen too. The boys thought it was pretty cool.

Above: After we went to the Bean Museum, we drove up Provo Canyon to show the boys Bridal Veil Falls and let them cool off their tootsies in the water. It was a really hot day and a lot of people had the same idea that we did. It was a little crowded, but still a lot of fun.

Above: Of course, no trip is complete without a visit to the hotel swimming pool. In fact, staying at a hotel without a swimming pool would be met with mutiny by these boys. Oh, and I just have to say that I think there are few things that Johnny loves more than staying in a hotel. He just loves it. Rather than ask if we can go on another trip, he will ask me if we can go and stay in a hotel. :)

Above: The next morning, we went to Seven Peaks (I had bought us each a Pass of All Passes). I actually did get wet this time. The highlight of the day though was the kiddie section. That is where the boys spent the majority of their time...so I was able to keep dry enough to snap a few pictures.
The boys had a ton of fun. It was a much needed little getaway. The only downfall is that it takes FOREVER to get food at Seven Peaks. I would highly advise bringing in a picnic lunch, or leaving the park for a break to go to get fast food. The boys were exhausted by the time we left (and for some reason, the reapplying of sunscreen made their skin sting), so we made a hasty and dramatic exit. Oh, and it took forever to get our passes printed up too! The pictures I had uploaded somehow didn't make it into their system, so we had to take new pictures and Peter had a meltdown about that...and then we somehow lost our passes in the park somewhere. Aye yai yai. I guess those things are to be expected on a family trip. :) Other than that, we had a fantastic little overnight trip and made some fun family memories.
