August, Part 1: The End of Summer

The first summer in our new house went by fast...and slow. We were settled into our new house but in survival mode. Everyone was having their own adjustment period and it was rough. It was understandable though. We moved into the Suncrest house when Peter was three and Johnny had just barely celebrated his first birthday. Neither of them remembers living at Mimi and Papa's house. The Suncrest house was the only house they had really ever known. I knew it would be hard for them to leave it. It was hard for all of us. While I love our new house and I am glad that I won't have to live through mountain winters anymore, I think there will always be a part of me that misses that house in Suncrest, and in a way, I think it will always feel like my home...just like my house on 1130 west in Taylorsville that I grew up in. However, the new house is unpacked and we are settling in and slowly getting to know people.

Above: Sunday dinners at Nammy's house are the best! Especially when Nammy reads to me too!

Above: We went and saw a puppet show at Murray Park for our last play date with Aunt Laurie this summer. The boys were...less than impressed.

Above: Dan was just happy to eat snacks outside, even if it was hot.

Above: We took a quick drive to the Mount Timpanogos Temple to show the boys.

Above: I went on a Mommy/Johnny date with Johnny. He informed me that it was NOT a date. It was an outing. At least he let me down easy...

Above: Cool exhibit at the Thanksgiving Point dinosaur museum.

Above: Johnny was a good little date...even if it wasn't actually a date.

Above: I got to meet Mom down at Education Week for a morning too. That was really nice. Hearing Michael Wilcox speak is always a good thing.

Above: The soccer season started too.

Above: Too bad there wasn't much action for Pete when he was playing goalie. I guess his team was just too good at defense.

Above: I wore make-up. I thought I should document it since it wasn't a Sunday or any special occasion. Ha ha.

Above: Then I thought I would shoot the moon and do my hair too.

That was one crazy summer. I'm glad it's done. I'm ready to be on to the next adventure!
