July, Part 11: Family Field Trip to the Utah State Capitol

I think the Utah State Capitol is so cool. I really love it. It's a beautiful building and they have some really fun exhibits inside to look at. The kids, however, were NOT in the mood for a field trip today. I remember this field trip mostly for the boys fighting, being sassy, being disobedient, getting grounded from tablets, and hitting some absolutely awful traffic on the drive home. Nammy joined us for this field trip. No lies, but it was really rough. There were some good moments, of course, but they were definitely outnumbered by the hard ones. I'll have to take them to the capitol again another time when everyone is in better spirits.

Above: Nammy gave the boys some coins to throw into the fountain.

Above: As I said, the capitol really has some fun and interesting exhibits.

Above: I love the architecture of the Utah State Capitol and how reminiscent it is of the nation's capital in Washington D.C.

Above: The boys thought the see-through elevators were super cool. Of course, they fought about who could push the buttons and who got into and out of the elevator first...

Above: Cool views.

Above: I promise he didn't go all the way in, but this sassy kid refused to let me take a picture of him on the appropriate side of the rope.

Above: If I remember correctly, Johnny found this nice little cubby to hide in after Peter was being mean to him and because he wanted to get away from me. (Because, of course, when anyone gets in a fight, it somehow becomes my fault).

Above: It's blurry, but you get the idea. It was just that kind of a day...

Above: At least the capitol building looks peaceful.

Above: Farewell until another time when you can be more fully appreciated!
