July, Part 7: Going to the Mountains

Summer just wouldn't be summer without a few visits to the mountains. We went up to Silver Lake and Albion Basin this month. If anyone can figure out how to bottle the smell of the mountains as well as grow mountain wildflowers down in the valley, I will be your first customer!

Above: Johnny pointed out our favorite "hidden Mickey" up on the mountain.

Above: I don't remember if it was this year or another year, but Johnny pointed at this and said, "It looks like Mickey Mouse!" So, even though it isn't in Disneyland, we consider it to be a hidden Mickey.

Above: Little Dan sure has fun making this expression!

Above: Here's a close-up.

Above: I sure love this handsome Pete of mine.

Above: Running away from Dad so he doesn't get any more slobbery kisses on his cheek.

Above: What a sweet, handsome, contented little guy Dan is.

Above: I love that smile.

Above: Here's Pete balancing on some fallen logs.

Above: We saw a pretty blue jay.

Above: Fuzzy close-up.

Above: The chipmunks were in a super friendly mood today.

Above: Not shy at all.

Above: Lots of pretty flowers to see. I thought this was fun because I rarely know the names of the flowers.

Above: Look at my sweet Johnny. What a nice guy he is.

Above: If you thought it wasn't fun to pretend to ride a log like a horse, you are wrong.

Above: Ride 'em, cowboy!

Above: So much fun!

Above: Dan enjoyed our outing to Silver Lake.

Above: Here's my sweet Johnny pulling silly faces on our favorite giant boulder.

Above: We love to throw rocks in the lake and see who can skip the most rocks.

Above: Running is the best way to get from point A to point B.

Above: Or from point B to point A.

Above: Dan loved our outing to Albion Basin too! Who are we kidding? Dan loves all of our outings!

Above: You can't beat the wildflowers at Albion Basin. So gorgeous.

Above: So many different kinds of wildflowers.

Above: And so many different colors of wildflowers.

Above: This fun shaped tree branch just begs to have a picture taken on or by it.

Above: I love that not only are there so many different kinds and colors of wildflowers but that they are all grouped together.

Above: How serendipitous to capture this moment on camera. I love Johnny pointing out at the view in front of them.

Above: Pete loves to chase after little animals. It's a good thing for that chipmunk that he (the chipmunk, not Peter) was super fast!

Above: We couldn't have picked a prettier day to go.

Above: See you next year, Albion Basin!
