August, Part 3: Dan's Twelfth Month

Oh, my sweet Daniel! Has it already been a year since you joined our family? Has the time gone by that quickly? My baby is getting so big! On the other hand, haven't you been with us forever? Could there possibly have been a time where you weren't around? I'm so grateful for this sweet boy. He was definitely worth the wait. He has brought me so much joy over the past year--especially since this year has been a hard one in many ways. He has definitely brought so much sunshine into my life.

Above: Don't let this guy's innocent look fool you. He's in the tub right now because he got his diaper off during nap time...and it was a poopy diaper...and it made a huge mess.

Above: Dad was out of town, of course, so mom took some pictures of Dan's messy crib to show him. I will spare you those pictures though and just leave it with pictures of my sweet little Dan.

Above: You can't stay mad at this kid for too long though.

Above: He knows it too! He's got everyone wrapped around his little finger!

Above: He is looking so big in his new pajamas.

Above: He's doing such a great job at standing.

Above: He loves his table toys that he can practice standing at and playing at the same time.

Above: It's too hard to choose just one picture.

Above: Look at those sweet chubby cheeks!

Above: Oooh! Look at that dimple!

Above: He looks so sweet. Big and little at the same time.

Above: This little guy is so fun-loving!

Above: Ha ha! This wide stance gives him a stronger standing foundation, I guess!

Above: I know I have tons of pictures of this guy in the tub, but he's just so cute when he is taking a bath!

Above: One of the reasons for all of the baths is how dirty this guy gets when he eats!

Above: He's crawling like a pro now!

Above: He still slobbers a bunch. I sure love him!

Above: Uh-oh. This guy figured out the perfect place to stick his finger.

Above: He's the best grocery shopping buddy ever.

Above: Look at this cute guy taking a knee.

Above: Morning snuggles are the best. Even if Mom looks crazy.

Above: Cutest BYU fan ever!

Above: I sure love this sweet one-year-old little boy of mine! I'm so glad he joined our family!

August, Part 2: Peter's 1st Day of 2nd Grade

This sweet and sassy boy of mine has been ready to go back to school and make some new friends. He's getting so big. It makes me so proud of him, but it also makes me nervous too. Sometimes he can be too big for his britches. He's 7 going on 17, if you know what I mean.

Above: This guy insisted that he wanted to walk, bike, or scooter to school by himself. I told him that I needed to take him for the first day of school. He put up such a fight about it. I told him, "I want to walk with you at least for the first day so I can time it to see how long it takes you to get to school so we can plan on it each morning." Ha ha. He reluctantly agreed. Once he realized how steep the hill to the school was and that it took longer to walk or ride to school than it did to drive there, he became more and more okay with me being present during his journey to school.

Above: No fear, just excitement. This kid is ready to be back in school and get to know the kids in our new neighborhood.

Above: There's Peter's teacher, Ms. Wilson. They have a superhero theme this year and she is wearing a cape. She's a really sweet gal. I think this is going to be a good year!
