Above: An average trip to the grocery store...but Peter wanted to sit on these riding machines. I told him I didn't have change. It didn't matter. The boys didn't need them to actually move. They just used their imaginations instead!
Above: My handsome pilot.
Above: Johnny loved this Big Bird plane. He didn't want to trade when Peter suggested it!
Above: We couldn't figure out what to do on the 24th of July. Jeremiah called from work with the suggestion that we take the boys to the cemetery. Peter had been asking to go...so, why not? The Draper cemetery is really new...so it isn't very full. It is a beautiful cemetery though. The boys liked examining the headstones. I will neither confirm nor deny that my boys played a little hide and seek behind the headstones, and that at one point, they might have decided to pretend to be zombies.
Above: Peter didn't want to turn around for a picture.
Above: Johnny, of course, followed suit.
Above: Daddy did it just to copy the boys and be funny.
Above: Sweet guy!
Above: Caught a good smile despite his efforts to avoid it!
Above: It might sound like a really odd way to spend the 24th, but it was perfect. It was just what the boys wanted and needed.
Above: Another attempt at a family picture.
Above: One more go at it. You might ask why I keep doing these when they all appear to be so unsuccessful. I love how real they are. I love how the boys automatically get wiggly or silly whenever I suggest these pictures. I like to capture these real moments.
Above: After the cemetery, we simply went to our church parking lot so the boys could practice riding their bikes. Johnny wouldn't ride his (he has Peter's old pedal-free bike). He was just content to run around. Peter, however, got in some good practice time and really got the hang of it quickly!
Above: Racing Daddy, who is on his skateboard.
Above: Going for a ride with Daddy (a slow, safe ride).
Above: Learning the ropes.
Above: Showing them how its done.
Above: Just happy to run around and play with the Frisbee.
Above: Johnny would throw the Frisbee just right so that it would spin on its side in a spiral. Johnny had so much fun chasing after it!
Above: Seriously, he has a knack for throwing that Frisbee so that it spins on its side that way.
Above: Another ride with Dad.
Above: Showing off the board.
Above: What a good rider! His matching bike/outfit combo was completely unintentional, but it sure looks cool!
Above: Here is Johnny watching some Sesame Street videos on my computer with great posture and the sweetest little belly.
Above: Relaxing on the deck after jumping on the trampoline with Dad. (Isn't that mustache ridiculous!?)
Above: My handsome guys.
Above: What a cutie!
Above: We played a game with my camera where I would call out an emotion and we would all make that face. This was Peter's angry face.
Above: This was Johnny's angry face! Ha ha!
Above: This was my angry face (complete with frizzy hair...it was really humid that day). I think I look more disgruntled and maybe even a little incredulous, if you ask me.
Above: Peter's fishy face.
Above: Johnny's fishy face.
Above: My fishy face.
Above: The boys pretending to be fish together. I guess their hands are supposed to be fins. :)
Above: Sunday dinner at Nammy's house. Uncle Sean and Aunt Robin brought their new puppy, Buster. The boys were scared of him at first, but they warmed up to him quickly! Peter had such a great time chasing and running around with Buster.
Above: No longer afraid of Buster, all Johnny wanted to do was hold him, and hold him, and hold him, and hold him, and never let go.
Above: Here is Peter and Johnny's cousin, baby Grant, doing one of his signature poses. What a cutie!
Above: Chasing some more. This time while dressed as a fireman, of course.
Above: Buster had just as good a time as Peter did. I think they tuckered each other out!
Above: Way back there is Peter during his very first swimming lesson.
Above: Johnny is very sweet and waits patiently and plays happily while Peter swims in the water during his lessons.
Above: Peter is learning quickly and doing such a great job!
Above: After swimming lessons one of the days, Peter and Johnny just wanted to sit in their car seats, eat snacks, and watch a show on the portable DVD player. I just used it as an opportunity to clean out the van! They had a great time and were very content.
Above: Playing with balloons and chasing at the same time!
Above: That balloon is almost as big as he is!
Above: We had a little hummingbird come to visit us for a couple of days. I was lucky enough to catch this picture. It wasn't easy because that little bird was fast (of course) and was darting all over the place.
Above: One of our neighbors posted this view from his house. The winters are definitely hard up here...but it really is a beautiful place to live!
Whew! Now I am caught up. So, I can let it slide for another three months and play catch up then, right? :)
looks like your little boys are having a great summer. I'm glad they are such good buddies. You got some cute little boys!
ReplyDeleteThis is so fun to see all of this together even though it's not fun for you to do all together.
ReplyDeleteHa ha! That one of their backs is hilarious. It looks like you have done some great things this summer.
