October, Part 7: Halloween and Conclusion!

Above: Here we are ready to go to our ward Halloween party aka Chili Cook-Off

Above: I have some silly guys!

Above: Strutting around, showing off his muscles, and acting like he owns the place.

Above: Having a doughnut eating competition.

Above: Mmmmm. Powdered sugar doughnuts.

Above: I bought the boys these costumes and I thought they would love them. They did NOT. They were afraid of them. I had to trick them into wearing them by telling them that it was too cold outside and they needed to wear something underneath their costumes. Ha! They fell for it...but just barely.

Above: How cute are these guys? The bones glow in the dark and the heart is shaped like a pumpkin.

Above: The boys could not leave the decorative pumpkins alone. No matter how many times I told them those pumpkins were decorations, they kept getting played with. I have decided that I won't be able to have any nice/serious decorations for quite awhile.

Above: I was the Princess AND the Frog for Halloween. Get it? See the little frog on my shoulder (not real, of course) Here I am, unsuspecting of my impending froggy doom..

Above: Oh my! What IS that thing on my shoulder?

Above: Alright, I will give you one little kiss.

Above: Mwa!

Above: What!? You turned into a baseball playing, jeans wearing prince? Whoohoo!

Above: Here we are carving our pumpkins the Monday before Halloween.

Above: We did a pretty good job!

Above: My sweet posers.

Above: Building with our foam puzzles on the Tuesday before Halloween.

Above: Comparing smiles.

Above: Yay! It is completed!

Above: Let me display this dinosaur maze to you.

Above: Now let me show you a monster face.

Above: Spyro through and through. The only time we ever got a picture of him with his mask kon.

Above: Enjoying our Halloween party with Miss Emily.

Above: They put on a great Halloween program.

Above: Afterwards, Jonas came over for lunch.

Above: Johnny wasn't sure what to make of the vampire doughnut breakfast I served to him on Halloween morning.

Above: My rascally, make-up and mischief-loving Peter decided he wanted to look like a cat, and drew a nose and whiskers on his face...with a permanent Sharpie. It took a lot of scrubbing and tears to get that off, I will tell you!

Above: Finally ready for trick-or-treating!

Above: Johnny wouldn't let us put him down because he was feeling shy.

Above: Peter was so happy to finally be out and trick-or-treating.

Above: Afterwards, Johnny was really sad to leave Nammy (we went to their trunk-or-treat).

Above: Peter was resigned that it was time to head home even though he wanted more. It was actually warm enough in our neighborhood and the boys are finally big enough that we could have done a little trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. Peter was kind of sad we hadn't because there were a couple of houses he had wanted to visit (Miss Emily's and Jonas'). So, I think next year, we will do a little trick-or-treating around our neighborhood before stopping by Nammy's trunk-or-treat.

Above: Does it have to end? This picture is actually from November 1st. The next morning, Johnny wasn't over his costume wearing ways and he wore his costume from last year pretty much all morning long.

Next up...November!
