Above: Let the parade of costumes continue. Peter definitely loves to dress up. Over the course of September and October, Peter pulled out his old Halloween costume (T-Rex), his new one (Captain America), this "Kung Fu Ninja" costume (that comes with a story of its own), Jonathan's pirate costume, Batman cape and mask with his pajamas, Jonathan's new Batman costume, and probably a couple more on top of that!
Above: Here's the story that goes along with this outfit. Peter's Mimi and Papa went to China and brought back this cute outfit when Peter was about two years old. Peter REFUSED to wear it. We got it partially on him once (pants, and an unbuttoned top), but then he SCREAMED and took it off before we could get a picture. So, I packed it away with the hopes that maybe someday Jonathan would let us put it on him. So, Jonathan is finally the right size to wear it. So I pulled it out for him. Peter saw it and said, "What's that?" The rest is history, as you can guess. I told Peter it was too small for him and that I had gotten it out for Jonathan. Peter begged to put it on because he said it was a "Kung Fu Master" suit. If Jonathan had cared, I wouldn't have let him. However, since Jonathan didn't care, we put it on Peter. That is why it is more than a little snug and it shows off his belly button. :)
Above: He is a natural Kung Fu Master.
Above: We had one particularly rainy day. On this day, this little squirrel decided to make our backyard his temporary home. He ran back and forth between the street, our yard, and our neighbor's yard, presumably in search of food. The boys thought this was so cool!
Above: I'll tell you, this is what living on a mountain is all about. I hate winter, and I'm afraid for what I have gotten myself into there. However, we had the most gorgeous autumn that I have ever had in my life. With this view in my backyard and amazing fall views on the drive up and down our mountain, I think we made the right decision to move up here! Not to mention that we have also seen a ton of deer too. The boys have been pretty excited about that. We saw one family of deer cross the road (four adults, one juvenile, and one baby). The boys thought the baby deer was pretty neat.
Above: Here is another shot of our friend, Mr. Squirrel.
Above: After visiting Mr. Squirrel, we had a messy lunch of some sort of Chef Boyardee concoction that warranted a bath. Mom gave us spiky hair to make shampooing a little more fun.
Above: In September, it dawned on me that we had not been to Temple Square with our boys AT ALL this year! How could that be? It took forever to find a free Saturday morning where we could make the trip, but we had a very nice little visit on October 13th.
Above: Yeah, Brigham Young was pretty cool. I definitely want to meet him and shake his hand someday!
Above: Peter was NOT in the mood to pose, so this is the best we could get.
Above: However, Peter is ALWAYS in the mood to check out a pool or fountain! Cool stuff!
Above: Jonathan was in heaven. The fountains were so cool that he even left the security of his stroller and our arms to explore it all further.
Above: Isn't that such a sweet face?
Above: It was a little drizzly, but it was just the right amount of cool. The boys had so much fun.
Above: I love fountains!
Above: What sweet guys! (Despite Jeremiah's RIDICULOUS mustache!)
Above: These boys love their Daddy!
Above: Even though it was a little chilly, Peter was running all over the place and got pretty heated up as a result of it, so he ditched his jacket.
Above: A very nice fellow (either an amateur photographer, or a photographer for one of the many wedding parties) offered to take a couple of pictures of us in front of the temple. Wasn't that nice of him? We hardly ever get pictures of all four of us together!
Above: I sure love these guys!
Above: We even went into the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. We went onto the top (I think the very top) floor and looked out of the windows at Temple Square.
Above: What a great view!
Above: My sweet boys looking at the temple. Outings like this sometimes make for a crazy day (the boys were STARVING the moment we got into the car, I had, of course, forgotten to pack snacks, we got them some kids meals, but poor Jeremiah had a really upset stomach, Jonathan fell asleep on the ride home, which messed up his nap schedule, and basically, the boys were a wreck for the whole rest of the day). But looking back on these pictures, I don't remember all of that craziness as much as I remember the beauty of Temple Square, the fun my boys had, and the gorgeous fall weather and surroundings.
Above: One day, when Peter woke up from his nap, he snuck out of his room (so quietly that I didn't hear it over the monitor). The next thing I know, is that I hear Peter and Jonathan chatting quite happily back and forth. When I went in to check on them a few minutes later (it took me a few minutes because I had to finish up some work), I discovered that Peter had put these toys into Jonathan's crib and they were both playing happily with them. Silly guys!
Above: Aunt Kim planned a super fun Halloween party on Monday October 15th (mostly, I think, to help pass the time and keep her from going crazy since she was due any day with her baby boy). I think she was hoping that by planning the party, it would cause her to go into labor sooner. Sadly, for Kim, that was not to be! More on that later! Jonathan got to wear the cute pirate costume that I bought for Peter when he was two. At the time, he refused to wear it. Peter actually got his turn wearing it this summer when we had our Half-o-ween party. But this time, it was Johnny's turn!
Above: I wanted Peter to wear his Captain America costume (mostly because I was worried that he was losing interest in Captain America and wouldn't want to wear that Halloween costume on the actual day of Halloween). Peter, however, insisted on wearing his "Kung Fu Master" costume.
Above: Nammy and Grandpa Niel dressed as "the Cat" and "the Hat."
Above: Jeremiah dressed up as a cowboy to showcase his ridiculous mustache. Lucky for me, he shaved it right before our anniversary. Unluckily for me, everyone at work is currently begging him to grow it back. To them, I say, "Nooooooo!"
Above: Clayton, "The Baker," with Kim, "The Bun in the Oven."
Above: Pirate Johnny and Cowboy Jeremiah.
Above: My sister, Emily, dressed up as a crazy cat lady. What a great idea, don't you think?!
Above: Nope, that isn't Jonathan. The next day, I hadn't put away the pirate costume yet and Peter put it on when I wasn't looking. Then, he ran around all over the house...so fast, that this was the best picture I got of him!
Above: My sweet little Jonathan knows the importance of proper eye protection when he is working. Now, if I could only get him to understand the importance of the proper clothing and footwear...
Above: Jonathan showing off his sweet smiles and his adorable bed-head. I swear, this kid sleeps on his head because his hair comes out spiky every time! So cute, though!
Anyway, that is it for part 2 of October! Next up, our family trip to Park City!
Ha ha! That Pete sure knows how to make me laugh and his personality comes through even in pictures, as does Johnny's sweetness.
ReplyDeleteToo bad you never got a picture of you, Mumu, and Pete at that spot. It would have made a good tradition to have a yearly picture of you guys in the temple spot and to see your family grow.
Which brings me to how tall Pete is!!!! Those pictures really make him seem like he is losing all toddler that he ever was and is now completely just little boy. Not little for long, I'm afraid.
