Above: The beginning of October was still really nice and warm, so for one of our Mackay family Monday night dinners, we went to the park.
Above: Laurie announced that she was expecting her third baby...due right around her birthday in April!
Above: The kids had a great time getting out their wiggles and playing on the playground.
Above: This just makes me crack up. I wonder what these boys were playing. It looks fun though!
Above: Look at how cute this girl is chasing these bubbles.
Above: Olivia is such a cutie.
Above: I love the curl on the top of her head. Is it bad that seeing her crawling makes me think of doing laundry though? :)
Above: Having good times offering three great movies and having each person choose which movie they would rather see on cable, in an Imax theater, or have erased completely. For instance, we were given the choice of Psycho, Rear Window, and Dial 'M' for Murder. I think I voted to watch Rear Window on cable, to see Psycho in Imax, and to erase Dial 'M' for Murder. There were some hard choices though. I think another option was Jaws, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and Jurassic Park. I think I opted to watch Jaws on Imax, watch Raiders on cable, and erase Jurassic Park...but dang, did I make the right choice? That's a hard one!
Above: Besides being fed a bottle on the grass and requiring a major bum change, this little guy enjoyed the park too!
Above: I got the boys some more skeleton pajamas, but I also found some mummy pajamas, and I just couldn't resist. The little eyes poking out of the wrappings glow in the dark. So cute!
Above: Peter walking like an Egyptian.
Above: We hiked along the Bonneville Shoreline Trail in mid-October to see the new Bear Canyon Suspension Bridge that was built just this year. It was such a pretty and warm October, we couldn't resist fitting in one more hike.
Above: It was such a pretty night. It was somewhat a race against time though. We didn't think about how early the sun would go down now that it was October. So we had to hurry up our hike so we could get back before it was too dark.
Above: It was Daniel's first hike with the family. As you can see, he thoroughly enjoyed himself.
Above: My boys always love a good hike.
Above: It's always so hard to get them into the van to go on these hikes. I don't know why they resist it so much, because as soon as we are hiking, these boys are as happy as can be.
Above: After a couple of wrong turns, we ran into a couple who (although also took some wrong turns) had finally figured out which way to go and pointed us in the right direction.
Above: Hooray! We made it to the suspension bridge.
Above: The nice couple who led us in the right direction also offered to take a picture of all of us together too. This is officially our first picture with everyone in the family all together since Daniel arrived.
Above: The bridge was pretty cool.
Above: I sure love that crazy, sassy Pete of mine.
Above: This is the best Pete would give us when we asked for a "Sweet Pete" smile.
Above: Now we need to head back before the sun sets!
Above: My muscle man Johnny.
Above: Pretty sunset.
Above: Peter making silly faces and Johnny is pretending to be a puppy.
Above: I only got blurry pictures of this, but the swirly clouds and the crescent moon looked so cool that night.
Above: This little climbing wall was by the parking lot. We reached it just as the sun went down.
Above: Johnny had a preschool field trip to a pumpkin patch in Springville. I kind of didn't want to go because it was such a long drive, it would mess with Daniel's sleep and eating schedule, and because Johnny hadn't acted super excited about it. We drove down to Springville, got there, and got out of the van and Johnny emphatically decided that he did NOT want to go. I couldn't convince him to stay. So, we got in the van and started to drive away. The whole time, I kept saying, "You can play with your friends from preschool. You can play in the corn pit. You can go on a hay ride." He was immovable...until we drove away and he looked back. He had a change of heart, I flipped a U-turn, and we went to his field trip...and Johnny had a blast. He was in little boy heaven. I'm glad I was able to convince him to stay.
Above: Johnny racing with his best bud, Eli.
Above: Getting ready to go on the hay ride. I didn't ride with them because it would have been too awkward with Daniel (who was attached to me in the Baby Bjorn), but Johnny was such a big boy and went without me and was a happy camper.
Above: Having a movie night with Daddy. We discovered a fun movie on Netflix called Zoom about some super heroes. Peter had his class stuffed animal with him that night to watch the movie with us.
Above: The week of Halloween, Peter's school had crazy hair and sock day. It was crazy having it the same week as Halloween, but I'm glad Pete got to do it. He was really excited.
Above: I used some green spray hair dye, some rubber snakes and lizards, some bobby pins, and some eyelash glue to attach the snakes and lizards to Peter's hair. I read about the eyelash glue on the Martha Stewart website. I won't be doing that again. It took FOREVER to get that eyelash glue out! Next time, bobby pins alone will do.
Above: Peter showing off his socks.
Above: Pete found these Deadpool socks when we went to a Halloween store. They are pretty much his favorite pair of socks these days.
Above: What a handsome guy!

Above: We went to the aquarium on one of Peter's early out days.

Above: The boys were surprisingly good for me on this outing.

Above: They were also in the mood to pose a lot for me too!

Above: The aquarium had some really fun pirate/Halloween decorations. It made it a lot of fun for the boys.

Above: The boys particularly love visiting the play area on the top floor. The boys were running around too fast for me to get anything but blurry pictures of them. I did snap this cute little shot of my sweet sleepy boy Daniel though. Newborns are so sweet.

Above: Peter pretending to be attacked by a Great White Shark.

Above: This is Johnny pretending to have already met his fate at the hands of a shovelhead shark.

Above: We decided to visit Farm Country before it closed. Peter finally got to make a flattened penny.

Above: I'll be sad when they get too big to ride the ponies and don't want to do it anymore.

Above: Johnny was at ease in the saddle.

Above: Pete didn't want his picture taken.

Above: Rather than the wagon, they had the carriage available for rides. The boys thought that was pretty fun.

Above: What a wise guy!

Above: I don't know. He looks pretty contrite...

Above: Maybe he really is repentant.

Above: Naaaaaah.

Above: Just cruising out of the city for a visit to the farm.

Above: Daddy checking his blind spot.

Above: Daddy time is the best.

Above: What a happy farmer.

Above: Such a sleepy guy. Being a newborn is hard work!
Lots of fun things to do in the fall...and lots more to come!

You had a very busy October and with only a 2 month old baby. Johnny looks so cute on that rock. Going to the park was a great idea. We need to continue that tradition for the summer.
