January 2013

My, my, my how time flies! Time to play some catch up with our family blog!

Above: I'm kind of glad I'm posting this now that all of the snow is gone. It was a lot of fun, and we built some awesome sled runs, but the snow was around for far too long!

Above: Jeremiah's turn! He flattened and smoothed out the sled runs that I built.

Above: When Johnny played outside this winter, he mostly stuck to the deck. He likes to eat the snow, but prefers the steady ground of the wooden deck as opposed to the slippery snow on the grass.

Above: Peter and I getting ready for a good run on the sled!

Above: This is pretty much how every outdoor session with Jonathan ended up. He had about a 10 minute time limit for being outside. It usually took about 10 minutes to get him wrestled down and dressed in his snow clothes too. :)

Above: Here is the double sled run in our back yard. We packed snow into the trampoline pit. The snow continued to get deeper and deeper in our backyard throughout the winter. At one point, the pit was completely packed full of snow and the sled run went right on top of it, even with the grass in the rest of the yard.

Above: We took a trip to Toys R Us to scout out some birthday present possibilities for the boys. They took the opportunity to go for a little ride with Garfield.

Above: Johnny's turn!

Above: We had a birthday cake for Peter on the Sunday before Peter's birthday. Wasn't that so nice of Nammy?

Above: What a cool Ninja Turtles cake! Thanks, Nammy!

Above: Birthdays are the best! Oh, and Nammy is the best!

Above: Nammy gave Peter this awesome Ninja Turtle toy for his birthday present.

Above: Just playing with our marble run that we got for Christmas.

Above: Having good times together as brothers.

Above: Just hangin' out with a snake around my neck. That's all.

Above: Trying on Daddy's glasses. Get used to 'em, kid. Bad eyes are in your genes. It is only a matter of time.

Above: With the Washburns, we went to Thanksgiving Point to check out the train show and have dinner at the deli for Peter's birthday.

Above: They had all sorts of cool trains, but the Lego train display was super awesome. Here is Helm's Deep from Lord of the Rings.

Above: Here is Hobbiton.

Above:  A scene from Jurassic Park.

Above: The T-Rex from Jurassic Park.

Above: Uh-oh. It looks like the raptors are loose.

Above: This sure is cool!

Above: The Emerald City from The Wizard of Oz.

Above: Here was a cool three track train set with three separate controls so that the cousins could all race each other at the same time.

Above: Happy 4th birthday, Peter!

Above: Peter was really excited about his presents.

Above: Thanks, Mom and Dad!

Above: Dad, you're the best!

Above: Nammy stopped by to wish Peter a happy birthday and have some cake with us.We went to the dinosaur museum earlier in the day, but honestly, there were no good pictures. So, I didn't post any!

Above: "Happy birthday, dear Peter. Happy birthday to you!" (Peter got a Transformers cake)

Above: I know. This is ridiculous. When you have three sets of grandparents and your own immediate family to deal with, it adds up to an awful lot of cake. I don't think we will be doing this again next year! This was Peter's hamburger birthday cake at Grandpa and Nana's house.

Above: Peter's cousins Tommy and Davis were so nice to give Peter a birthday present.

Above: Here we are playing "restaurant." Basically, this consists of me serving the boys while they sit at the counter instead of the table, and acting like I work at a restaurant. The boys love it, and they tend to eat more when I serve food to them this way...that is, as long as it doesn't get overplayed!

Above: Isn't that Johnny so cute?

More catch-up to come! Next up, February 2013!

  1. The restaurant game is pretty funny. You never know what will make kids eat, do you?
