February, Part 1: Snow, Snow, and More Snow

Well, it's not surprising to get a ton of snow up here in Suncrest...and it's also not surprising that I got really, really sick of it. It was stressful to drive in, stressful to clear away, and it was stressful to pick Peter up from school (not to mention driving him there and back).

Above: That circle area is our trampoline pit. It actually got a little scary because it wasn't just filled with snow...it was filled with water because of all of the melted snow and it was covered with snow on top. The boys lost their sleds in that pit. Jeremiah said he could easily dig the sleds out and I told him, "No way. You will sink in and it will be freezing cold."

Above: Jeremiah started by kicking around with his feet.

Above: He found a baseball tee that had gotten stuck in the pit and used that as a shovel for awhile, but the sleds had sunk far too deep to reach it that way.

Above: Of course, eventually, he did sink in because that pit was not sturdy...and yes, it was freezing cold. The sleds were not retrieved that day!

Above: Here are a few views of the snow around our neighborhood. Yeah, it was soooo deep!

Above: As the winter progressed, the snow closed in and driveways, streets, and parking lots slowly closed in and became smaller and smaller (while the snow drifts became taller and taller).

Above: One day, I picked Johnny up from preschool and all of his classmates had a ton of fun playing on top of the pile of snow created by the snow plows.

Is it March yet? I could use a little spring and a whole lot less snow right about now!
