July, Part 1: Horsing Around with Dad

One of the things the boys love most about the summer is playing on the trampoline with Dad. Dad uses their little blankets and whips them around. The boys' goal is to jump over the blanket. Dad's goal is to trip them. They LOVE this game.

Above: There is NO escape!

Above: Nice jump, Pete!

Above: We were treated with a beautiful sunset.

Above: It turned out that the night we were all playing outside was the same night that Jupiter and Mars were visible to the naked eye and we just happened to have an awesome view of it. I had totally forgotten about it, but Mars and Jupiter were so bright that Pete noticed it and pointed it out. It was breathtaking. I was just so mesmerized at the fact that we were looking at two planets from our very own back yard.

Above: As it got later, Mars and Jupiter got lower and lower in the sky until the trees on our skyline blocked them from our view. We were only able to view them for about an hour...and if we hadn't been playing outside and if my sharp-eyed Pete hadn't pointed them out, we would have missed this celestial view entirely. I'm so glad I got to see it.

July is definitely off to a great start!
