August, Part 8: Miscellaneous

Above: Johnny just loves Aunt Robin's and Uncle Sean's new puppy, Buster.

Above: I believe this actually took place in July, but we signed the boys up for a Lowe's Build and Grow workshop where they got to build some cool stuff, and they got a cool apron to keep.

Above: The boys love to play with Daddy on the trampoline.

Above: Daddy loves to play with the boys on the trampoline.

Above: Great action shot!

Above: We got to watch AJ and Ty again the following week. The boys had so much fun! I didn't get as many pictures that day though.

Above: We had another water fight per the boys' request.

Above: Peter building a wall with our blocks in his room during nap time/quiet time.

Above: The fall leaves started coming early, but isn't it beautiful? My favorite time of the year!

Above: Oh, what a good mom I was this particular Saturday morning. I gave both of my boys separate, leisurely baths (they had been fighting during bath time too often lately, so I had to separate them).

Above: My sweet guy.

Above: Spiky hair.

Above: Oh, doesn't he look so sweet and innocent?

Above: Look at those eyes. How could he ever do anything wrong? Ahhhh. Both of my boys nice and clean. Wonderful, happy, conflict-free bath times for both of them too. It is going to be a great day!

Above: Until they decided to decimate my make-up. I was downstairs cleaning, Jeremiah was fixing something in the boys' bathroom upstairs. The boys were upstairs with Jeremiah...or so I thought. I came up to check on everyone and Jeremiah said, "They have just been playing happily and quietly in Johnny's closet." Wait? Playing quietly, you say? Uh-oh. So, I went in to check on them. At first, it seemed like everything was okay. Then I took a closer look. My boys had covered each other from head to toe with all of my lipstick, my mascara, and my liquid eyeliner. Not cheap stuff either. I have allergic reactions to most lipstick, so all of my lipstick is Mary Kay. So, we are talking about $15 per tube of lipstick...and they destroyed four tubes. They wore each lipstick down to the nub and then some--coloring each other to look like army guys. So, with the mascara and eyeliner, I figure they destroyed about $75 worth of make-up. Oh, and besides coloring themselves, they had fun coloring the walls, the carpet, and our baby bassinet which we had kept stored in Jonathan's closet.

Above: The bottom of the bassinet. Yeah, that isn't coming out.

Above: The basket that was at the bottom of the bassinet. I tried cleaning it, but it simply smeared all over the place. I had to cut the bassinet off and throw it away. I was mad about the make-up, I was disappointed in Peter because we had talked to him already about not taking my things (he knew he was being naughty and that he was stealing), and I was sad about the bassinet. We are trying for a new baby (who knows how long it will take me to get pregnant), and it just feels like my first two kids are going to destroy everything before this baby gets there. I would really like this next baby to have something beautiful, clean, and well-taken care of. Does that make any sense? Besides that, the boys had to have baths again after I had taken a ton of time giving them separate baths that morning. I then had to clean the bathtub which was caked with make-up. I also got to clean the carpet in Johnny's room, the walls, and a whole bunch of other odds and ends that they got make-up on. So, I had a good, tempestuous cry and then we put the boys down for nap time. At which point, I headed to the store to buy some new mascara. Argh! What a morning.
