October, Part 2: Conference Weekend

Above: I set up our little tent so the boys could watch conference with their tent pitched towards the prophet's voice. As it turned out, the TV in our basement was having issues (our little cable box wasn't working), so we ended up listening to conference over the radio. I was excited though because when I told the boys it was conference weekend, they clapped and shouted happily. I want conference weekend to be a positive thing for them. They were excited to have family time and to build Lego's...and they fully expect to do it while listening to conference. They put up no arguments. They just look forward to it as family time.

Above: My sweet, rambunctious boys.

Above: Despite what these pictures might tell you, we had a mostly mellow time listening to conference and building with Legos.

Above: Johnny loves his lemons!

Above: When Legos got old, we broke out the Lincoln Logs.

Above: Sunday was Grandpa's birthday so we went over to his house to wish him a happy birthday and have some pre-dinner cake.

Above: After visiting Grandpa, we went to Nammy's house to dinner and to play.

Above: The boys wanted to recreate the magical impromptu pillow fight that we had at Nammy's house a few weeks back.

Above: Peter decided to go and play some cards with Grandpa and the gang for a bit.

Above: Johnny was content on his Nammy's lap.

Above: On a separate note, the day after conference, we got our missing pieces of our Power Rangers Megazord in the mail. We had been collecting the pieces in our Happy Meals...but the toys were discontinued before we had collected them all. I looked on eBay and discovered that this is where people make money off of their unopened Happy Meal toys (which they charge at ridiculous prices). So, I emailed McDonald's and asked them if I could buy the missing toys from them. They offered to mail them at no cost or fee of any kind. They sent the middle piece and the black leg piece--for both boys (so, four toys total for free). Wasn't that awesome of them? It made me really happy and the boys were so excited when they saw their Megazord all put together.

Above: Separately, the toys are alright. Built all together into one big Megazord, I'm not going to lie, it is a pretty awesome toy.
