September, Part 5: Lagoon

Above: Nammy treated all of us to a trip to Lagoon for reaching our scripture study goals. Here is our very first ride. Johnny just wanted to sit on his daddy's lap.

Above: See? On Daddy's lap and as happy as can be.

Above: "I'm sorry, sir. He can't sit on your lap." Bring on the tears again.

Above: Poor Johnny!

Above: Luckily, this first ride wasn't a sign of things to come. Johnny had a great time the rest of the day.

Above: Pete is a little daredevil. He is happy to go on as many rides as he can!

Above: I love the progression of this family picture. You can see Peter struggling against posing the whole time and you can see my Mom finally (perhaps reluctantly?) smile for the camera.

Above: Johnny's reaction to the train's whistle.

Above: Loves from Johnny are the best.

Above: One happy Nammy.

Above: Pete loved all the rides.

Above: I love this picture. It started to sprinkle a little bit so Peter is helping Johnny put his hood on. We actually debated whether to come to Lagoon this day or to postpone it because rain was in the forecast. We decided to go for it. You will see the results of the rain later.

Above: Ready to ride!

Above: I love my sweet boys. Johnny felt safe with his big brother.

Above: Aren't they sweet?

Above: It started sprinkling while we stood in line for the train. During our ride, it really began to pour.

Above: The boys thought the train ride and the rain were cool.

Above: "More pictures?"

Above: We got the boys on the carousel when it really started to rain.

Above: After that, we had to take refuge under some umbrellas while sitting on some tables. I really thought we should have made a run for Pioneer Village because there was a lot of shelter there...but I guess I was the only one who thought that way.

Above: Any part of us that wasn't covered by the umbrellas got soaked. There were flash flood warnings all over the state. This wasn't just a little old rainstorm.

Above: My boys got soaked and LOVED every minute of it.

Above: It's more fun in the rain!

Above: We had a great time in Pioneer Village. I particularly like this picture because when I asked Pete if he had to go to the bathroom, his response was, "No." Yeah, right.

Above: On their way back from the bathroom.

Above: Check out that fancy stove!

Above: "Puddle? What puddle?"

Above: Just taking a stroll.

Above: Best buddies.

Above: Checking out the Pioneer Village train museum.

Above: These guys had so much fun together that day. Thanks, Nammy!

Above: See? We could have taken shelter in the carriage museum. Barely anyone knows about this place. It was completely empty.

Above: Waiting in line for the Haunted Mansion.

Above: Telling one of his great stories. He gets very animated.

Above: I wonder where Peter gets it from?

Above: The only thing I have to say about this guy is that it is because of his spiel that I learned from my Mom that my blood type is A+. When I was younger, we came to Lagoon and while we were waiting in this line, the owl said something about Dracula liking A+ blood. That is when my Mom told me to watch out because that was my blood type. It made quite an impression on me. :)

Above: Putting up with all of my picture taking.

Above: I really wish I didn't get impatient and start talking. The camera was taking so long to prep itself because we were in the dark. Jeremiah is obviously being cheesy, but this is Johnny's sincere response to the haunted house ride. :) When we asked him afterward what his favorite ride was, he responded, "Haunet house.' Peter, on the other hand, did NOT like this ride at all. It genuinely scared him. He has a very active imagination. Johnny is pretty imaginative too, but he really, truly enjoys a good scare!

Above: Waiting in line for the Bombora.

Above: Waiting while Daddy and Pete go on the Chinese dragon ride (too much spinning around for me!).

Above: How my Johnny spent his time waiting for Daddy and Pete to get off the ride.

Above: Checking out a hearse on our way back to the van.

Above: "Who could be driving this hearse?"

Above: "Aaaaaaah!"

Above: Since the boys were soaked, we stripped them down and turned on the heat for the drive home. Here is Johnny getting comfortable.

Above: The boys had so much fun at Lagoon. The drive home with the candy Nammy got for them wasn't too bad either!

Above: When we got home, Johnny got into this position. When I asked him if he was going potty, his response was, "Nooooooooo," in a very long, grunting voice.

Above: We weren't able to go to the Lowe's Build and Grow clinic that was scheduled for that morning. They were really nice though and gave us the stuff to build our fire trucks at home. I build the two trucks for the boys after we got home from Lagoon.

Above: The boys really liked their fire trucks...and then they finally mellowed out and relaxed a bit.

Above: Cute, eh? I did a pretty good job!

Above: Then Johnny helped me make some meatballs for our dinner the next day (more on that Mackay family dinner later). Then it was off to bed!

  1. So are there any more Lowe's workshops or are they done for the year?
