April, Part 7: Easter

We decided to do pretty much all of our Easter celebrating on Saturday and keep Sunday as a sacred day to remember Jesus. So, we did all of our Easter egg hunts and Easter basket stuff on Saturday. I really liked doing it that way, and I plan to make it a tradition.

Above: We dyed eggs on Saturday morning.

Above: We did it outside, of course, just in case the dye spilled (it didn't).

Above: Johnny couldn't wait to eat some of the eggs. Yum. Freshly dyed hard boiled eggs!

Above: Pete had to have one too. These boys actually love hard boiled eggs.

Above: The handy work of my boys!

Above: We went to an Easter egg hunt/brunch at Uncle Jabe's house. Super fun (egg hunt) and super delicious (brunch).

Above: The hunt is on! May the best man win!

Above: After the hunt, the first order of business is emptying all of the eggs and inspecting the spoils.

Above: Aunt Kristin had a bunch of eggs for the kids to dye after the egg hunt.

Above: Johnny was more interested in blowing bubbles. He is really good at it!

Above: After we got back from Jabe and Kristin's house, I set up our Easter basket treasure hunt. Johnny wasn't quite sure what to think of it.

Above: I might cry...

Above: Or maybe this could be good...

Above: After the initial clue on the counter, Peter found the first egg...and did a victory dance.

Above: Peter knows just where to look after reading the clue.

Above: But Johnny didn't find the egg...

Above: Johnny really wanted to find that egg.

Above: Peter found the next egg...and did a victory dance.

Above: Johnny wanted to stay sad, but he couldn't hide the fact that he was mildly amused by Peter's victory dance.

Above: Peter found the next egg...and did a victory dance...

Above: Still dancing...

Above: Checking out the next clue while still in the victory dance pose.

Above: FINALLY! We found our baskets!

Above: Okay, Johnny is happy now!

Above: This boy LOVES puppies!

Above: This boy loves scooters! We got the Skylanders game (on sale for half off) for the whole family to play with.

Above: Ahhhh. All is well again.

Above: Yummy Easter candy...especially the chocolate bunny.

Above: I got Johnny a pink box because he likes pink a lot. :)

Above: Yum. So many goodies to eat!

Above: After we hunted for our Eater baskets, mom put together our very own egg hunt in our back yard.

Above: Plenty of Easter eggs for all!

That is how we spent our Easter Saturday. On Easter Sunday, we went to church, came back and hung out as a family for a bit, took it easy, played our new Skylanders game, and eventually took Daddy to the airport (because he had to leave for a business trip). The most I did was to make Resurrection Rolls so we could talk about Jesus, His resurrection, and the empty tomb. I think this is definitely going to be a tradition for our family.
