April, Part 4: Tulip Festival with the Washburn Family

Every year, Mike and Debra open up the Thanksgiving Point gardens for us to have a Sunday family dinner during the tulip festival. Thanksgiving Point is closed on Sunday, so when they open it up for us on a Sunday, we get to enjoy the gardens with just our family. It was a gorgeous day (a little chilly, but sunny and beautiful).

Above: The kids love it because we get to ride on the golf carts all around the gardens.

Above: Jeremiah got to ride a segway for the first time. He loved it. No surprise there!

Above: Johnny was happy to get into the posing area...but he refused to smile and pose with the other cousins.

Above: Feeding the coi at the pond. We gave them the last of our leftover Kix cereal (we gave the rest of it to the ducks when we went to Millrace Park on Friday).

Above: The gardens were beautiful.

Above: The gardens had some really pretty decorations.

Above: The kids love to stop and see the sculptures of Jesus.

Above: The waterfall cliffs have an owl keeping her nest warm.

Above: Though bright and beautiful, it did get a tad chilly towards the end.

Above: We had a picnic before we explored the gardens. As is the norm, this is AFTER the boys ate dinner. This is Johnny plate. He might quite a dent in his dinner, didn't he?

Well, even if the only things that the boys really ended up eating were chocolate covered strawberries, it was still well worth the trip.

Above: In parting, I would like to add that this crazy retro suit is what Jeremiah decided to wear to church earlier this day.
