December, Part 4: Snowman Family (The Rise and Fall)

It's rare that we can build snowmen up in Suncrest. The snow has to be just right. The snow up here is usually too powdery (you can't pack it, and it doesn't stick together), or it gets too icy. However, shortly before Christmas, we were blessed to have some wet snow that was easily packed together. Peter ran off to play with Jonas--even though I told him that Johnny and I were going to build snowmen--and Johnny and I built a little snowman.

Above: The first snowman didn't take too long, so we decided to build him a wife.

Above: Johnny was very good at making friends with the snow-couple.

Above: Too many cute pictures to choose from!

Above: It didn't take us long to realize that this snow-couple needed a snow-family. So, we made two brothers...and then Johnny insisted that we needed a snow baby (even though we hadn't told the boys yet that I was pregnant).

Then Peter came home (and brought Jonas with him). He was quite jealous that we had built snowmen without him. I told him we could build some more snowmen later, but that I was tired and needed a break (we had been building for almost an hour). As soon as I went inside, Peter convinced Johnny and Jonas to do this to our snow family...

Above: Historically speaking, Snowmen have very little chance around Peter. He loves to destroy them. I was really bugged. I had told him he could only be out in the backyard if he didn't ruin the snowmen. So, as a result, Jonas was sent home and I told the boys that we couldn't build anymore snowmen. This brought Johnny to tears and made Peter quite angry. We never again got another snowman worthy snowfall this winter, so that was indeed the extent of our snowmen for this winter.

Above: Bye, bye baby!

  1. Oh, that Peter. To be frank, I'm not a snow baby and being out that long would not be my idea of fun. :) Good mom.
