February, Part 7: Trip to California, Day 3

On the third day of our trip, I woke up early with Johnny. We snuck out and tried to go and pick up some breakfast from McDonald's...but I had forgotten to bring my phone and my memory wasn't good enough for me to find my way back there unaided. So, I snuck back into the hotel room, and then snuck back out with my phone and then I successfully found my way to McDonald's. We got breakfast and then brought it back to the hotel room to eat breakfast together.

It was a beautiful day, though still a little chilly. We had decided to visit the beach that morning. We figured it would probably be too cold to really go swimming in the ocean, but we also figured that it would be fun for the boys to see the ocean, play in the sand, and walk along the shore. Luckily for us, our hotel was right along the shore. So, after only a short drive, we were at the beach.

Above: This guy had a great time playing in the surf.

Above: This guy LOVES the ocean.

Above: Peter was having a great time digging in the sand with Dad.

Above: Always on the move.

Above: Dad just had to go swimming in the ocean.

Above: The boys got cold, so I took them back to the car, brushed off the sand, and bundled them up in some towels. Meanwhile, Dad went for a swim on his own for about 15 minutes or so because my guy who loves the ocean couldn't leave without going for a little swim.

Above: As soon as we got back, the boys wanted to go swimming in the hotel pool. So, that's exactly what they did. I packed up our hotel room (we were switching hotels so that we could have a hotel closer to Disneyland for the remainder of the trip) while they swam. I came out and took a few pictures of them before they had to go in and get dressed.

Above: They love to make beards out of the hot tub foam.

Above: Dad made a pretty crazy beard for himself too.

Above: I love this crazy guy of mine!

Above: They favored the hot tub because it was a little cooler and because they wanted to warm up after the beach, but they had a great time in the pool too.

After they were done swimming, they showered off, got dressed, we packed up, and we were on our way. We grabbed some lunch. When things had fallen through last night for us to meet Jeremiah's friend Nick, we had planned for the possibility of visiting with him today instead...but that fell through too. The possibility was also open for a visit on Sunday, but that was fruitless as well. Visiting Jeremiah's friend, Nick, was not to be this time around.

We then drove for about an hour or so to get to our new hotel--which was awesome. I wish I had taken pictures of the hotel room. It was pretty cool and the boys were beyond impressed. We had a little couch area and everything.

Above: These boys could have spent the whole trip in the pool/hot tub if we had let them. The foam/bubbles in this hot tub were far superior to the last hotel's hot tub foam/bubbles.

Above: This cute guy loved sitting in the corner of the pool.

Above: In case you missed how cute he is, here is a close-up picture.
